Consensus building, rural (Western) style!

Trying to make something new happen in this world is seldom easy. Which is one of the reasons it’s so satisfying, I guess.

That’s especially the case in rural areas like ours, places that naturally attract resilient, independent-minded folks, each with his or her own set of often fiercely-held beliefs and standards.

I was reminded of this the other day when a friend sent me this hilarious video, an ad for technology services giant, EDS. Trying to build a consensus around, well, just about anything these days really can feel a bit like….

Helping shape change is of course serious work. But sometimes we have to step back and have a chuckle at ourselves, too. Anyone who’s attempted to do anything “out of the ordinary” pretty much anywhere in rural Canada will get a kick out of this brief clip. Yee-haw!
