What’s Kaslo’s “Brand”?

What if someone came up to you and asked the following simple question:

“What’s the one thing about Kaslo and Area D that makes your village and the surrounding region unique?”

A bit of a head-scratcher for most of us, right? How on earth can you distill all the amazing assets we have into a single response?

Or maybe it’s not such a tough question after all. Maybe the answer’s right on the tip of your tongue.

Either way, the Kaslo Institute would like to know what you think. Through our website, the Kaslo & Area Facebook page, and via Kootenay Co-op Radio’s Radio Free Kaslo show, we’ll be asking you that question — and sharing your answer with your friends & neighbours.

Starting right now.

Let us know what you think!

  1. Kaslo is a village that sustains itself. It seems self-reliant, self-sufficient with residents that are interconnected economically, culturally and socially due to it’s isolation and strong individualism/mentality. Kaslo is a a living village…a unique concept in a time of urban sprawl.

  2. Kaslo’s relative isolation is both its hope and its despair. it’s pretty much the whole cloth – and no frippery. But its saving grace is its natural beauty and the tough, funny, creative people who find their way here. It is also a great place to raise resilient, capable, confident kids.
